Bats R Us Nuisance Wildlife Trapping Team Knows All The Trapping Tricks

Nuisance Wildlife Trapping is a feasible choice if you cannot settle your wildlife conflict by other means, such as habitat modification. We believe nuisance wildlife trapping be used if other options have failed since trapping presents many difficulties for both the wildlife and the trapper. Also, nuisance wildlife trapping rarely provides a permanent solution IF other critters are around your property, and food and/or shelter exists near you or your property.

If wildlife passes through the yard or lives in a tree we do not suggest trapping UNLESS THE ANIMAL IS DANGEROUS. There is no guarantee that the same kind of critter won’t come back to pester you. Living near wildlife may or may not present a problem. Time usually reveals whether your wildlife neighbors will be pestering you or living in harmony with you and your property

The proper time to trap wildlife in or around your home or property includes emergency conditions with a dangerous animal or an animal inhabiting the walls or attic of your home. If you need some professional advice feel free to call BATS R US NUISANCE WILDLIFE TRAPPING EXPERTS at (203) 885-3822.

SUGGESTION: If a bat is in your living space it’s best we live-trap it since generally there will be more than one in your attic. Plus, bats can carry rabies, and you don’t want to get bitten. If you do try to trap a bat and get bitten, please keep the bat for testing.

Basic Types Of Nuisance Wildlife Trapping Designs

BATS R US WILDLIFE always prefers live trapping nuisance wildlife that pesters your home or pets. But, there are times when a trap must be used that will humanely euthanize the offending critter. We will always inform you regarding the trap we plan to use and consider your feelings at every step of the trapping process. There are two types of traps that we use: quick-kill traps and live-holding traps.

Quick Kill Traps quickly kill the captured animal, like the small traps used to kill mice, moles, and sometimes a trap like the GREEN HORNET TRAP which quickly kills larger wildlife like squirrels or raccoons.

The Live-Holding Trap, also called a cage trap, shuts when an animal like a squirrel, raccoon, or possum steps on the treadle, or pan, located inside the trap. When the critter trips the treadle, the door, or doors, at the end(s) of the trap close. Once in the trap, we release the animal on your property, relocate it, or in the last resort, euthanize it with your permission, of course.

This raccoon was captured in a live trap. He can now be easily transported and relocated.
Our nuisance wildlife trapping mole experts must humanely use a quick kill trap.
At times, nuisance wildlife trapping demands using a larger kill trap like the Green Hornet Trap which we only use when absolutely necessary.

When We Will Not Keep Live Trapped Wildlife – A Nursing Mother

At Bats R US Wildlife, we take great care when trapping an adult critter caring for offspring who need feeding by the mother. Ae always look and listen for young whenever we are trapping a larger animal like a raccoon, skunk, or opossum.

When an adult animal is trapped, we examine the animal for swollen teats nearly free of hair, which means it may be a female nursing newborn. We do this by standing the trap up on end and see the belly of the animal. In such a case, we release the female on-site if trapped outside of your home so she can tend to her young, assuming your home has no young within.

mother and baby raccoons

We know that permanently parting a nursing female from her babies would likely cause them to starve to death. Our goal is to always trap animals as humanely as possible and seperating a mother from its babies is inhumane. Cruelty is unacceptable at BATS R US WILDLIFE LLC!

What We Can Do With Live-Trapped Animals: The Three Options

Option 1: Release the animal at the site of capture

When we use this option, an animal is trapped and released on your property after we have made sure getting back into your home or buildings is prevented by our sealing exclusion prevention process. If young are present but were not noticed prior to trapping, this option enables the female to tend to her dependent offspring.

Option 2: Relocate the animal on Off your property

Once an animal is live-trapped, it’s easiest to release it on your property once we have sealed up all possible entry points. But, Connecticut laws are strict about releasing live animals off your property.

“Relocation of rabies-vector species (raccoon, skunk, and fox) is prohibited under Connecticut General Statutes Section 26-47(b) and 26-57. This restriction is necessary to prevent human-assisted spread of this disease and is an important component of the state’s nuisance wildlife control program.”

We may be able to release some animals off your property. During our consultation, we will speak with you regarding relocation options.

Option 3: Humanely euthanize the animal
Euthanizing wildlife, especially the young, does not sit well with many homeowners. If option 1 and option2 are not available, then euthanasia of a live-captured nuisance critter is necessary. Our BATS U US WILDLIFE philosophy demands that euthanasia be done humanely, consistent with the American Veterinary Medical Association’s precepts. All humane forms of euthanasia require education and training.

A Few Testimonials

What People are Saying About Bats R Us

“…Outstanding Service.”

Batsrus Wildlife (Joe) providing outstanding service. We had over 16 bats in our attic! He was able to find and seal up the points of entry, remove the bats, provide the clean up and insulation removal. The insulation removal was a huge job. He spent extra time and he fees were very reasonable. We had other companies come here to give estimates. They had slick presentations and folders and programs that cost $5,000.00 more than Bats R Us Wildlife. Joe reminds me of a down to earth expert business owner that knows what he is doing. We went with Joe and will always recommend his business. (His employees are respectful, followed all safety protocols as well.)
